Description of Position
Our Client has a contractor opening for a Client Server application tester to support the testing efforts for a large scale system, including regression testing of a client server PC-based application. This role supports the Technical Lead in system test planning, documentation, coordination and system test execution efforts for product release schedules. The ideal candidate will be an experienced tester with application development experience, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and a team player with exceptional time management skills.
Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:
* Under direction, participates as a highly technical expert in testing new software or enhancements to existing software.
* Supports test planning activities of team and the team lead.
* Records system test scenarios and scripts in HP Quality Center (QC).
* Ensures system test scenarios and scripts are traceable to and from documented business requirements.
* Manages defects in QC throughout the system test lifecycle.
* Works with Technical Lead and Project Manager to identify and promptly resolve any issues that may arise during testing.
* Participates in daily team SCRUM.
Required Skills
* Previous experience as a Lead Tester or 6+ years of experience in test planning, test case design, development and execution in a PC environment.
* Solid knowledge of client server application validation and testing.
* Practical experience and knowledge in the following technologies and tools:
~ HP Quality Center
~ SQL Development (MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008)
~ Operating System Environments (Microsoft Windows).
* Ability to write clear and concise technical documents.
* Ability to clearly document a process or procedure for others to follow.
* Possess basic understanding of project management and demonstrates flexibility and adherence to departmental standards.
* Must be detail oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time.
* Must be able to complete a task or project with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to manage multiple testing objectives and efforts.
* Previous experience working in an Agile environment.
Desired Skills
Solid knowledge of PowerBuilder applications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience).
